An excerpt from the tafseer of as-Sa’dee, rahimahullah
Those who believe and do righteous good deeds, surely, We shall remit from them their evil deeds and shall reward them according to the best of that which they used to do.
[Surat Al-`Ankabūt, Ayah 7]
- “Those who believe and do righteous good deeds, surely, We shall remit from them their evil deeds” Meaning, that those whom Allah has blessed them with faith and righteous actions, then Allah will expiate them of their sins. This is because good deeds remove bad deeds.
- “and shall reward them according to the best of that which they used to do…” And these are the superior deeds from the obligatory and the supererogatory acts. Thus they are the best deeds of what the servant does, because he also performs allowable deeds from the permissible deeds and other than them.
